Ah, so, I wasn't going to show anything until it was all done, because surprises are fun, but the momentum died- so why not:
So, as you might be able to guess from this, I really had been working on the site. ( [link] for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about.) This is the outer part of the layout... at least as much of that portion of the site that I had "finished" before all hell broke loose in real life here. I do want to make some changes to the look of this- I'm really only unhappy because I was aiming for something else color wise- don't think I'm trying to be too hard on myself- you know how it is: to want one kind of thing to come out but to end up with another.
And some other areas will be tweaked too. Like I tried to indicate: I wasn't 100% done when I had to stop working on this.
I drew the sketch/concept for this in 2003(?) but I started working this actual piece in March (2009) and then had to stop in April when I found out I was going to have to move.
It's roughly laid out like the landscape of A Link to the Past... very roughly.
So pardon me while I drool. Guh. Talk about nostalgia! My friends and I used to visit your website daily back in high school. It was The LoZ site and stood out like a diamond in the rough (and yes, I'm still amazed I'm able to talk to the awesome that is Melora).
I'm stoked to see HoH is getting some much deserved TLC, and that it'll eventually be back online (yaa?). Love that the layout is reminiscent of aLttP's Hyrule, which means bright colors and a classic story book feeling. Very representative of Hyrule for me, more so than Twilight Princess, at times, or at least when it comes to color. (I adore muted tones, but I'm so used to Hyrule being bright and magical.)
I think my favorite thing about this (besides everything) is the Triforce symbol on the bottom. That, the house and trails on the left, and the castle in the distance, the mushrooms around the Triforce, and the waterfall. Yeah. So again, the whole thing.
