It feels like it's been a long time since I did anything but sketch. This took me a lot longer than it should have, and I'm still not happy with a few things- the colors aren't quite where I wanted them, and the closest grapevines are kind of... too simple- or something.. and I had huge problems with the hip area. I'm stopping myself before I start ranting. Anyway, I thought it might be fun to do a series project. So I decided that I would do a pic of Zelda, Malon, or Marin for each of the zodiac signs for my Sisters of the Heart Fanlisting: [link] I got the idea to do something like this a while ago, when I opened it, but never really got around to starting until now. & I really only wanted to do tiny little drawings, but of course I don't know how to keep something simple. Heh X) It really turned out looking a lot like it's for Europa and the Bull (or pic another myth that's close to that one) but I don't care, it's just what I went with. It was done in Photoshop with a tablet and the full size is 2080x1303, or widescreen wallpaper size! Princess Zelda is a Nintendo Character from the Legend of Zelda series. --I feel worn out now, but it was a fun few days! :3 EDIT: Here's a link to a sheet of the working images from start to finish for this piece- it's in my scraps area: [link] EDIT Sept. 16, 2008: Changed his front feet just slightly to hopefully help a little with the floating feel. I didn't want to change it too much from the original though. That would feel like cheating to me. I also added a 1920x1200 download size, this is a bit larger than the last downloadable size. CommentsThis is both cute and the perspective is quite nicely done on her leg draped over the bull's back. The bull's feet are kind of off kilter, but the colors and the blending are so cute I ignore most of the mistakes.
-- And all is one. "You talk when you cease to be at peace with your thoughts... and in much of your talking, thinking is half-murdered." Thank you! To hear someone think it's cute makes me really happy :3 Yeah, I like to call him Mr. Stubby Legs -It started as such a simple sketch that I didn't try to tweak things, then I got carried away and before I knew it, it seemed a lot "bigger" than I had ever intended. At that point, fixing structural problems would have meant I go back further than I wanted to think about. Well, that and the fact that sometimes I get lazy or just can't see things
-- Please visit my scraps! [link] They need love too. Also, my gallery [link] Art site [link] and my other webpages! [link] Quite welcome, it was deserving! And so, the bull's decked out like a Saturnalia sacrifice... so what? Clearly Zelda likes him. *laughs* He seems placid for a bull. Maybe it's the whiteness. White ones are supposed to be divinely favored or something, right? ; ) It turned out well, and don't complain about inspiration, madame! Inspiration is GOOD when it comes along and smacks a sketch into spin and leaves it confused, but better looking. ; )
-- And all is one. "You talk when you cease to be at peace with your thoughts... and in much of your talking, thinking is half-murdered." This is beautiful! You did such a wonderful job on everything. It just looks so nice the way everything fits together. Your shading and coloring is gorgeous (What was wrong with the colors?). I'm glad you posted something other than a sketch! Even though your sketches are fantastic, as well!
-- They are neither man nor woman- They are neither brute nor human- They are Ghouls Ahhhh~!!! A new picture from mel~~!!!! This looks really beautifull. I really love the way zelda sit's on the bull. Also love that head decoration on the bull's head, you know the triforce. And yay for zodiac sign taurus, cus i'm one also ^0^

-- Brian: So what did you tell her? Peter: I told her she was fat. Brian: *smacks him with a rolled-up newspaper* NO!.... NO!... |
